Hacking Interaction

Two pieces for dancers and WiiMote

This work is a collaboration between an array of dancers and a duo of laptop performers. Each dancer holds a WiiMote while the laptop performer is creating meaningful mappings between the input data and sonification algorithms. The strategy of the performance is to enact an interactivity loop between the dancer (and his/her movements) and the unpredictable reactions of the live tweaked algorithms on the fly. All in all, this is intended to serve the improvisational act and enable communication between performers with diverse background such as music and dance.
